Meet the Hosts

The More Disciples Podcast features four hosts from four different organizations, along with a new special guest each week. To truly make More Disciples and reach the entire world with the gospel, the Church must act in unity. This podcast isn’t about any organizational agenda. We’re only about multiplying disciples and equipping others to do the same.

Doug Lucas

Team Expansion

Doug Lucas founded Team Expansion in 1978 and, over 40 years later, still serves as the organization’s President. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Bible, a Master’s degree in Missions, an MBA, and a Doctorate in Business Administration. The organization makes its home on a 61-acre Prayer, Retreat, and Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky and currently has over 300 full-time workers in 50 countries who are praying daily that God helps them make and multiply disciples among the unreached for His glory. Learn more about Team Expansion at www.TeamExpansion.org . Doug has been married to Penny since 1979. They have two grown children and one granddaughter. Doug’s book, More Disciples, is designed to help believers discover how they and their believing communities can be more effective at multiplying disciples and churches.

Lee Wood

1Body Church

Lee Wood is the Founder and initial catalyst of 1Body Church, as well as a missionary and Apostolic leader with a world vision to launch disciple-multiplying movements until the whole world knows Jesus. He leads and mentors key leaders in launching small house churches to spread the Gospel, starting in the smallest expression in his home in Tampa and eventually across the whole world. This aligns with his philosophy of "dream big, work small". Lee is married to Stacy, is the father of five and grandfather of five.

John Heerema

Biglife

In 1999, John Heerema was a successful business owner. John and his wife Kathy enjoyed a leisurely lifestyle in Naples, Florida.

Sitting on the floor one evening with their young daughter and with a son on the way, John and Kathy reflected on how they had built the “perfect life.” Shortly thereafter, John was blindsided by a question that he read in a book. The question that pierced John’s heart was this:

Are you living a little life in your own little world,
or are you willing to live a BIGLIFE,
a life with a big impact for the Kingdom of God?

John began to struggle with realization that his perfect little life was perfectly shallow.
After wrestling with God, John walked away from his business to join God where He was already working. A ministry called Biglife was started. Biglife now serves in over 130 countries, reaching millions of people with the Gospel message in some of the darkest strongholds on earth. Through life-on-life discipleship, living a life with a big Kingdom impact is the core of everything we do and the heartbeat of who we are.
